Some fun Trivia for this show
Loved this show, start to finish. Etta James & Tower of Power horns a true delight. Etta came out just bouncing all over the stage, it was great.
...
Although it took them a couple minutes before the horns were mic'd and heard, then it sounded awesome. Here's some fun trivia you might remember if you were standing close enough to notice. During Franklin's Tower, sometime during the "Some come to laugh the past away" verse and chorus, Bobby broke a string. You'll notice his guitar is absent during the next jam (from 6:27 to 8:27). The whole time during the jam Bobby is standing on stage as Parish or Popick or someone was kneeling in front of him, changing his string. Jerry and the rest of the band took advantage of the moment and jammed as hard as they could, everyone focused on Weir as he stood there looking helpless, dying to be a part of it. Smiles all around the stage, and cheers from the crowd, as they kept it going bigger and bigger while Bobby just held his hands up in the air, like a kid crying "wait for me!"

What a great and underrrated show
Barely talked about or mentioned as far as i can remember in my circles, this night before new years show is a true five star experience. Great Sound,
...
one of those rare times where vocals, bass, guitar, keys, and drums are perfectly level and even. The 82' sound is here and there, but from Summer tour on they really let out some classics. This is one of them. Great setlist, great sound. Love the unusual 1st set song placement. The Saint of Circumstance is one of the best ive ever heard, stellar Bobby vocal improvs that actually go above cheese. Great Duprees, Early versions of Touch and Throwing Stones are solid and energetic. Franklins is focused and way heady. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SLEEPER 82' show. JERRYS ON FIRE!
